Early Childhood Music Education (ECME) program is for toddlers and children from the age of 6 months to 6 years old. The ECME program consists of two major areas: (1) Musical Elements; and (2) Developmental Milestone.

 

ECME Syllabus

 

 

Musical Elements

 

Singing Skills

      - Range from 2 tones to 6 tones

      - Absolute Pitches (D'-B'; C'-C", D'-D")

      - Normal Tempo (from 44 to 108)

      - In Tune Singing

 

Rhythmic Skills

      - Beat (Basic beat, steady beat, melodic rhythm)

      - Rhythm

      - Fast-Slow

 

Perception of Form

      - Rhythm Echoing

      - Melodic Echoing

 

Aural Perception

      - High-Low

      - Soft and Loud Relationship

      - Melody and Sound Identification

      - Inner Hearing (Song Hiding)

      - Discrimination of Timbres

 

Music Listening

 

Instruments

      - Drum, Bongo, Conga, Rainmaker, Kazoo, Recorder,

      Castanets, Xylophone, Quero, Maracas

 

Proportion of Rhymes to Composed Music

      - From 90%-10% to 70%-30%

The Board's ECME program structure has 5 different levels according to admitting age:

 

Level 1

ECME Graduates Verification System

 

This verification system allows anyone to verify whether a person has been awarded the ECME graduate certificate issued by the Board’s or the Board’s member.

 

Note: This verification system does not verify the following types of certificates:-

(1)   Certificate of “Short-Term” ECME program accredited by the Board; and

(2)   Certificate of ECME program NOT accredited by the Board
